1921 England and Wales Census records are now available!

On 6 January 2022 the 1921 England and Wales Census records were made available online via the FindMyPast website. The records have been indexed and are searchable via the usual methods. These records are only viewable on a pay-per-view basis and are not included in any of FindMyPast's existing subscriptions with the exception of the 12 month premium subscription.

"ABERCROMBIE, ABERCBOMBY. Of territorial origin from the barony, now parish, of the same name in Fife. William de Abercromby of the county of Fife did homage in 1296. His seal bears a boar's head and neck on a wreath, star in base and crescent above, and S' Wiffi de Ab'crumbi (Bain, n, p. 203, 540). As William de Habercnrumbi he was juror on an inquest in the same year which found that Emma la Suchis died seized in demesne in Fife (ibid., p. 216). Johan de Abercromby of the same county also rendered homage in the same year, and in 1305 served on an inquest made at the town of St. John of Perth (ibid., 730, 1670, p. 204). The Abercrombies of that flk became extinct in the direct line in the middle of the seventeenth century, and the Abercrombies of Birkenbog are now the representative family of the name. In the lists of the Scots Guards in France the name appears as Abre Commier.
