In old charters the name was sometimes Latinized 'Carnea Crux.' Sometime before 1325 Duncan de Caryncros appears as witness in a charter by Henry de Maule, lord of Panmure (Panmure, n, 159), and Henri of Carnecors was a charter witness in 1388 (Bamff, p. 22). Occ., p. 244), probably a son of the forementioned William Carnecors.
