The first is an old surname in Aberdeenshire and in Banffshire, and there were families of this name in Glenbuchat in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. They were followers of the earls of Huntly, and took part in the battle of Glenlivat, 1594. Several Connons from Turriff and neighborhood served in the first Great War (Turriff).
