Marion of Croudane made complaint to the town council of Aberdeen in 1441 (CRA., p. 10), and Thomas Croudane was admitted a burgess of the same town in 1445 (NSCM., i, p. 9). Alexander Cruden (1701-1770) was author of Concordance of the Old and New Testaments. The form Crowden is current in Caithness.
