Edmund Burke Wood
Edmund Burke Wood (February 13, 1820 – October 7, 1882) was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario for Brant South, and served as the first provincial treasurer of Ontario from 1867 to 1871 under Premier John Sandfield Macdonald. He also served as a federal Member of Parliament representing the electoral districts of Brant South and Durham West from 1867–1874 under Prime Minister Sir John A. Macdonald.
He later became Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Manitoba from 1874 to 1882. He died as Chief Justice in 1882.

Edmund Eli Wood (10 February 1903 – 1 June 1986) was an English professional footballer who made 60 appearances in the Football League playing for Northampton Town, Birmingham and Newcastle United. He played as a centre half.
Wood was born in Stirchley, which was then in Worcestershire and became part of Birmingham in 1911, and played for Redditch and Rhyl Athletic before joining Northampton Town. He played 50 games in the Third Division South for Northampton, then moved to First Division club Birmingham in 1925, where he played only one first-team game. After another spell with Rhyl Wood returned to the First Division to play nine times for Newcastle United before going back to Rhyl yet again. He died in Northampton in 1986 at the age of 83.
He was the nephew of another Edmund Wood, also a footballer, who was awarded a medal in the 1901-1902 West Bromwich Charity Cup.

Edmund Walter Hanbury Wood (16 November 1898 – 12 December 1947) was a British Conservative Party politician.
Born in London, Wood was the younger son of Sir John Wood, 1st Baronet (1857–1951), by his second wife Gertrude (died 1927), who was the third daughter of the second Lord Bateman.
He was educated at Stubbington House School and Eton College, and the Royal Military College Sandhurst. He graduated from Sandhurst in 1917 at the height of the First World War, receiving a commission in the 2nd Life Guards. He left the army in 1920 with the rank of major.
He was elected at the 1924 general election as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Stalybridge and Hyde,but was defeated at the 1929 general election and did not stand for parliament again.
Wood was the chairman of the London Municipal Society, and in 1932 he was elected to fill a vacancy in the representation of Westminster St Georges on the London County Council. A member of the minority party on the council, the Conservative-backed Municipal Reform Party, he was chief whip of the party from 1937 to 1940. He stood down from the council at the 1946 election.
He died at his home, Hengrave Lodge near Bury St Edmunds, aged 49, after a long illness.
