Henry Baker (cricketer)
Henry Stephen Baker (26 December 1904 – 7 November 1926) was an Australian-born cricketer who played a single first-class cricket match in New Zealand for Otago.
Baker was born at Melbourne in Victoria in 1904. He played in his only known cricket match during the 1925/26 season, against Canterbury. He scored a total of two runs in the match. Baker also played rugby union and was described as a "fine all-round athlete" and as a "prominent member of the Dunedin Football Club".
Baker lived in the Dunedin suburb of Kensington, and worked as a factory hand. He died in November 1926 at the age of 21, less than 12 months after his only first-class appearance. He drowned while swimming off Tomahawk beach in Dunedin.

Henry Baker (1734–1766) was an English author.
Baker was born at Enfield, Middlesex, 10 February 1734, the second son of Henry Baker, F.R.S., and Sophia, daughter of Daniel Defoe.
According to Nichols (Anecdotes of Bowyer, 416), he followed the profession of a lawyer, but in no creditable line. He contributed occasional poetry and essays to periodicals, and in 1756 published, in two volumes, Essays Pastoral and Elegiac. Wilson, in his Life of Defoe, states that he died 24 August 1776, and was buried in the churchyard of St. Mary-le-Strand beside his mother, but the parish register gives the date of his burial as 24 August 1766. According to Chalmers, he left ready for the press an arranged collection of all the statutes relating to bankruptcy, with cases, precedents, &c., entitled The Clerk to the Commission, which is supposed to have been published under another title in 1768. His son, William Baker, born 1763, afterwards rector of Lyndon and South Luffenham, Rutland, inherited the property and papers of Henry Baker, F.R.S.

Henry Harold Peter Baker (November 24, 1915 – March 4, 2004) was an educator and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Regina East from 1964 to 1967, Regina South East from 1967 to 1971, Regina Wascana from 1971 to 1975 and Regina Victoria from 1975 to 1982 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) and then New Democratic Party (NDP) member.
He was born in Lipton, Saskatchewan and was educated there and in Regina and at the Regina Teachers' College. He taught school for several years and then served in the Royal Canadian Air Force teaching aircraft personnel during World War II. In 1944, Baker became secretary of the Saskatchewan Public Service Commission. He served on the city council for Regina and was mayor from 1958 to 1970 and from 1973 to 1979, becoming the city's longest-serving mayor; he was defeated by Harry Walker when he ran for reelection in 1970. Baker was defeated by Metro Rybchuk when he ran for reelection to the Saskatchewan assembly in 1982. He died in Regina at the age of 88.
The Regina City Council chamber was renamed in his honour. The city also established the Henry Baker Scholarship Program.
