Peter Kerr (political scientist)
Peter Kerr (born 26 April 1967, in Scotland) is a Scottish political scientist. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Birmingham and a specialist in British politics, political sociology, state theory and theories of social and political change. He specialises and teaches in the area of British politics, with a particular focus on governmental strategies, UK political parties, political leadership and ideology in the UK and, changes and continuities in British political institutions and public policy since 1945.
Kerr's most important work is Postwar British Politics: From Conflict to Consensus (Routledge, 2001, ) which has proven a hit for students with its quirky style. In the text, Kerr challenges conventional views of British politics. He was the protégé of Colin Hay and David Marsh, who are the leading lights on the British political science scene.
Kerr is a co-editor of the journal British Politics published by Palgrave Macmillan.

Peter Kerr (21 April 1820 – 31 March 1912) was an Australian architect and the principal designer of the Parliament House of Victoria, Australia, commencing from a government architect's basic design.
Kerr immigrated to Melbourne in 1852 after working under Sir Charles Barry on the design of the Palace of Westminster. Having also associated with Augustus Pugin, he was well versed in the Gothic Revival style in which, over 40 years, he developed one of the city's great buildings.
