Some Famous People called Stephen Newton
Stephen Newton
Stephen Cox Newton (21 April 1853 – 16 August 1916) was an English cricketer who represented, and captained, Somerset County Cricket Club in the late 19th century. During a 14-year first-class cricket career, he also represented Cambridge University, Middlesex and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
He made his debut in first-class cricket for Cambridge University, where he was awarded his Blue. He then spent nine seasons playing for Somerset, and captained the side for the last five of those seasons. Working as a schoolmaster at Highgate School in London from 1876–1884, his playing opportunities for the south-western county were limited, and from 1885 he only played first-class cricket at Lord's, representing Middlesex in three matches that season, and appearing for the MCC on nine occasions over six years. He returned to play for Somerset in 1887 and 1890 when they had lost their first-class status. He worked as headmaster of Loudon House School in London for some years from 1888, and died following an operation in 1916 in Ipswich.

Stephen Hibbert Newton (born 25 April 1955) AO is an Australian teacher, who served as Principal of Caulfield Grammar School (1993–2011) and Hamilton College (1986–1993) in Victoria.
Stephen Hibbert Newton was born in Melbourne on 25 April 1955 to Hibbert Richard Newton and Judith Mary Newton (née Williams). Consequently, by an extraordinary coincidence, both Newton and Caulfield Grammar School, founded on 25 April 1881, share the same birthday.
Newton attended Scotch College, and was a classroom teacher prior to becoming a principal.
During his term as Principal at Caulfield, the school became coeducational across all campuses, and opened a campus in Nanjing, China to host its internationalism programme.
In 2010, Newton won the Sir James Darling Medal from the Australian College of Educators for his outstanding and sustained contribution to Victorian education, and the Jiangsu Friendship Award, which is the Chinese province's highest award for foreign citizens. He received one of six 2011 John Laing Professional Development Awards from Principals Victoria. He was named as an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2012, for "distinguished service to education in the independent schools sector, through executive roles with professional organisations and advisory bodies, and to the development of educational development opportunities with China."

Stephen Newton (born 1948) is a British artist. The art critic Mel Gooding described Newton’s painting as a “psycho-conceptual project”. They explore primitive manic states; isolation; disassociation; loss; fear; loneliness and supplication, themes containing sinister elements common to us all.
Through years of contemplation and engagement with painting and drawing, Newton has distilled that fusion between the physical and intellectual in the creative process – the essence being a reduction to primitive, almost primeval, images of immense power.
