There is a Bullions near Larbert, Stirlingshire, another near Cairneyhill, Dunfermline, and a third near Nemphlar in Lanarkshire. In the parish of Ecclesmachen in West Lothian there is also a mineral spring named Bullion Well (Penny, LinUthgowshire, p. 18). These place names are derived from Gaelic (Irish) bttUdn, defined by Joyce as "a round spring well in a rock or rocks. Often applied to an artificial cuplike hollow in a rock which generally contains rain water" (Irish names of places, m, p. 152). The -s is English plural. Andrew Bulzeons made a renunciation of the third part of the lands of Little Tullibeltane in 1674 (DPD., n, p. 160). "(The surnames of Scotland. George Fraser Black, 1866-1948)
