John James Shepherd
John James Shepherd (2 June 1884 – 9 July 1954) was an English tug of war competitor who competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics, in the 1912 Summer Olympics, and in the 1920 Summer Olympics for Great Britain.
He was part of the British team City of London Police which won two gold medals in 1908 and 1920 and the joint City of London Police-Metropolitan Police "K" Division British team which won a silver medal in 1912.
He was also known for supporting the wrestling styles of Cumberland and Westmorland, and earned multiple heavyweight wrestling titles locally.

John Neil Shepherd (born 9 November 1943) is a Barbadian former cricketer who played in five Test matches for the West Indies cricket team between 1969 and 1971. Shepherd had a long career in English county cricket for Kent County Cricket Club and Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. He was born in Belleplaine, St Andrew in Barbados and played for the Barbados cricket team in his early career.
Shepherd made his Test debut against England in Manchester, taking five wickets. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1979.
Although Shepherd's Test career was short, he played a remarkable amount of first-class cricket in a variety of venues: he played in both South Africa and Rhodesia, played 15 years for Kent and seven for Gloucestershire. He was the Cricket Professional at Eastbourne College in the early 1990s and President of Kent for 2011 where, as of 2017, he sits on the committee.

John Graham Shepherd (born 1946) CBE FRS is a British Earth system scientist, Emeritus Professor at University of Southampton, and a former director of the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton. He has worked on a wide range of environment-related topics, including the transport of chemical tracers in the atmospheric boundary layer and in the deep ocean, the management of marine fish stocks, and the dynamics of the Earth system. More recently he led a comprehensive review of geoengineering for the Royal Society.

John Shepherd (Australian politician)
John Shepherd (1849 – 8 April 1893) was an Australian politician.
He was born in Melbourne to John Shepherd and Eliza Audley. A solicitor, he moved to Sydney around 1873. On 25 October 1883 he married Margaret Kennedy Yorston Ballantyne, with whom he had a daughter. In 1877 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for Wellington; he did not contest the subsequent election in 1880. He returned to the Assembly in 1885 as the member for East Macquarie, but was defeated running for Paddington in 1887. A Free Trader, he served his final term on election to Paddington in 1889, and did not contest in 1891. Shepherd died in Sydney in 1893.
