William Kingdon Clifford
William Kingdon Clifford (4 May 1845 – 3 March 1879) was an English mathematician and philosopher. Building on the work of Hermann Grassmann, he introduced what is now termed geometric algebra, a special case of the Clifford algebra named in his honour. The operations of geometric algebra have the effect of mirroring, rotating, translating, and mapping the geometric objects that are being modelled to new positions. Clifford algebras in general and geometric algebra in particular have been of ever increasing importance to mathematical physics, geometry, and computing. Clifford was the first to suggest that gravitation might be a manifestation of an underlying geometry. In his philosophical writings he coined the expression mind-stuff.

William Clifford (cricketer)
William Clifford (christened 14 December 1811 – 5 September 1841) was an English cricketer who played for Kent county teams. He was a right-hand batsman and an occasional wicket-keeper.
Clifford was christened at Bearsted in Kent. His grandfather was the Georgian all-rounder Robert Clifford and his brother Francis Clifford also played in first-class matches for Kent County Cricket Club in the mid 19th century.
William Clifford made his debut in the 1834 season and played in 29 first-class matches. He died in 1841 at Gravesend, Kent probably aged less than 30.

William Clifford (1878 – December 23, 1941) was an American actor and screenwriter of the silent era. He appeared in 170 films between 1910 and 1929. He also wrote for 30 films between 1913 and 1919.
Clifford was born in New Orleans in 1878, and he was educated in voice and music in Toronto, Canada.
Early in his career, Clifford acted on stage as a supporting player for 18 years before he formed his own repertory company that toured the United States. He also was the leading man in Earnest Shipman's Prisoner of Zenda company.
He died in Los Angeles, California.

William Hugh Joseph Clifford (24 December 1823 – 14 August 1893) was an English prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Bishop of Clifton from 1857 to 1893.
Born in Irnham, Lincolnshire on 24 December 1823, the son of Hugh Clifford, 7th Baron Clifford of Chudleigh and Mary Lucy Weld, daughter of Cardinal Thomas Weld. He was ordained to the priesthood on 25 August 1850. Six and a half years later, he was appointed the Bishop of the Diocese of Clifton on 29 January 1857. His consecration to the Episcopate took place at the Sistine Chapel on 15 February 1857, the principal consecrator was Pope Pius IX, with Archbishop George Errington as co-consecrator. Bishop Clifford attended the First Vatican Council as one of the 693 council fathers, held between 8 December 1869 to 20 October 1870.
He died in office on 14 August 1893, aged 69.
